House plants hard at work!

At my home and at the shop(the Bouquet Palace) we love plants. I have them all over my house, from small to pretty big and in almost every room in the house. I just love them. Did you know that they can also clean the air while they are looking all cool and fresh in your house.
Really they can.
In some of my down time I have compiled a list of Heather's Favorite House plants.
So what makes Heather's top list....
They have to catch my eye, so that boils down to ... they need to look pretty or groovy.
They have to be pet friendly for the most part. I have to think of my sweet fur baby.
They have to be pretty easy care. Ain't no-body got time to be baby sitting plants. I have mom duties, ministry work and a full time gig, cows and chickens to tend to and now with the boys out of school for all this virus stuff we are working on school stuff at home too. No time for no baby picky plants round here.

I am sure you all don't have time for no picky plants either.
So what are my picks....

In no real order other then coolness factor....

#1 Flamingo Lily (Anthurium)

Pretty easy care: moderate to medium light. They like humidity so give them a mist once a week in the summer and water them about once a week. In the winter cut back on your water to every 10-14 days. They are known to grow under larger plants in their natural habitat so don't go crazy on a ton of direct light.
And as far a coolness... well just look at them! Who wouldn't want one of these beauties growing in your home.
Good for cleaning the air in your home too, by filtering out Ammonia, Toluene, Xylene and Formaldehyde.
That's why this beauty hits the top of my list! Helpful, Beautiful and low maintenance.
The question is why wouldn't you want this in your home!

#2. Pothos:

So this guy looks pretty normal. Nothing very, shall we say, over the top about this one. So why is it my #2.
Because....
Easy of Easy. One of the easiest plants to grow and keep alive. It tells you when its had to much water (yellow leaves) or not enough (brown leave). It can grow just about anywhere, well except the dark. I mean, outside of a mushroom who could. Anyway.... And at every leaf if you break it off and drop it in water, you will see roots in no time. Super easy... and now the real coolness...
NASA reported it to be one of the plants at the top of their clean air study. It removes....
Benzene, Formaldehyde, Toluene, Carbon Monoxide and Xylene
Hello, how cool is this guy! He cares about you!
Definite must for any busy home!

#3 Xanadu plant

Um... Hello... How groovy is this guy! That rich deep green and those leaves, Super Fun!!!
This fella defiantly makes the top 5! Coolness... he is off the charts cool on looks.
Easy, yes he is very easy care! I really don't know what else to say but yes you all need one stat!

#4 The Palm: there are 3 that hit my list so I thought I would just add them as one! They all are about the same on growing... easy! Medium to low light is cool and they don't like their roots soaking wet so water them about once a week in the heat and when it's cooler every 10 days. However they all have their different coolness factors....

This guys is the Broad Lady Palm. Beautiful!

This is the Bamboo Palm.

And last but not least Parlor Palm they can stay pretty small Or they can get pretty large too....

These palms are great for filtering out toxins in the air like, Benzene , Trichloroethylene, Xylene, Nitrogen Oxide, and Toluene. All are good in low light. And just look how beautiful they are. All would be awesome for your home. Also my personal experience... My Goose when he was a puppy tried to kill my Parlor Palm. He thought that it was going to attack us at night and so proceeded to try and rip it to pieces. After I got it all cleaned up and re-potted again, it is now thriving. So if they can live through the brutal attack of a 4 month old pit bull puppy, they are pretty tough in my book and make it to the top of my list.

#5 Fittonia "Frankie" plant (the nerve plant)

What a pretty lady! LoVe this plant so much! They are low maintenance and great at filtering out toxins in the air. And coolness.... Just look at it!!! So very pretty!! Super easy to take care of too!

#6 Aloe Plant!
So this absolutely had to make it on the list. This little guys is so easy to take care of and super cool! He need a good sunny spot and then leave him there. Water as needed but only as needed. The biggest mistake people make is to much water. I water mine about once every 2 weeks he is fine and dandy. And there are so many things that aloe is good for! Why wouldn't you have one. Trust me you will thank me when you get one of these in your life!

#7 The mother in Laws Tongue!
So the name is so fun! They are super hardy little plants and so very easy to take care of! Oh, and just look at these beauties! Think succulent! Don't over water these ladies they wont let you live it down! Ha! For real, they are unforgiving in the over watering department but other then that easy care! Love the look of them. If you have an ultra modern home these would do great to add just a pop of green and yellow but keeping with the clean lines! Love it!

#8 Spider Plant

This guy! What is not cool about him! He can hang or sit pretty on a shelf. Loves bright light but not directly in the sun! Filters out all kinds of toxins and has babies you will love! You can see the babies hanging off this guy. Just cut one off pot it and pass it on to a friend! What!!! It really is pretty easy! He just makes me happy and really the only kind of Spider I am down with having babies in my house, or living in my house come to think of it!
What a beauty and way up there in coolness!

Now lets talk Bloomers!!!! (not the undies)
#9 Gerber Daisy plant
I mean... what a beautiful plant! We love to use these in flower arrangements because they make such a statement! But you can have them in your home. You can always plant them outside and then cut them and add them to a vase by your bed or on your desk to bring some beauty to your area. They are more then just a pretty face! They remove some toxins like Benzene from the air as well. Aside from mood enhancing beauty that lifts your spirits they can clean the air. Beautiful and helpful!

#10 Mum plants!

We often see these guys making a scene about fall! When all the others decide do exit stage left these guys stand center stage. They come in so many different colors and sizes it's not hard to see how this guy made the top 10 list! What a show stopper and cleans up while it's around. That's right, he will filter out some toxins in the air for you!
Bright, beautiful, easy and helpful! He packs a big punch in the coolness factor!

Well that's it guys! That's my list!

There are so many good things about having plants in your life!
If anyone says anything about all the house plants just tell them you have delegated some of the cleaning out, and I don't know about y'all but I can use all the help I can get with cleaning! Mostly because I don't want to do it so .... and I am real busy!

Have a blessed day y'all and go buy a plant or 10, and if anyone tells you that you don't need that many plants cut them off, you don't need that kind of talk in your life!

Love ya
